Feast of St. Melania the Elder, Foundress, Desert Mother. Wealthy Roman married a Proconsul, influential in the Christian ascetic movement, spiritual mentor to Evagrius of Pontus.

Feast of St. Landulf of Yariglia, Benedictine Bishop of Asti, Italy. He studied at the Benedictine monastery of San Pietro in Ciel d’Oro in Pavia and joined Anselm IV, Archbishop of Milan, on the Crusade of 1101. Landulf was elected Bishop of Asti in 1105.

Feast of St. Marcellin Champagnat, French Priest and Founder, The Marist Brothers of the Schools (the Little Brothers of Mary).  Patron of Education and Teachers.  Died 1840. Canonized in 1999.
