Feast of St. Cianan

Feast of St. Cianan (Kenan), Bishop of Duleek, Ireland. A hostage given to King Leogair, studied at the monastery of St. Martin in Tours. He converted great numbers to Christianity in Connaught and Leinster. Cianan built the first stone cathedral at Danberg, (Duleek), Meath, Ireland

Feast of St. Maurus

Feast of St. Maurus, Benedictine Founder.  Roman Noble, first disciple of St. Benedict of Nursia.  Founder Glanfeuil Abbey. Patron of cripples, charcoal burners, cobblers, coppersmiths, shoemakers and the Azores.  Invoked against fever,  rheumatism, epilepsy, gout, hoarseness and cold.

Feast of St. Edmund the Martyr, King East Anglia.  His shrine became the English town of Bury St. Edmund’s. Patron saint of England, pandemics, torture victims, wolves, the Roman Catholic diocese of East Anglia, the English county of Suffolk and Douai Abbey,Toulouse, France.
