Feast of St. Joseph, the husband of the Blessed Virgin Mary and legal father of Jesus Christ.  Patron of The Catholic Church, unborn children, fathers, workers, carpenters, Belgium, Croatia, realtors, against doubt and hesitation and of a happy death.

Feast of St. Patrick and St. Gertrude of Nivelles. St. Patrick is the well-known patron of Ireland. Today is also the feast day of St. Gertrude of Nivelles. St. Gertrude is the patron of travelers, gardeners and cats.

Feast of St. Louise de Marillac, co-founder, (with St. Vincent de Paul), the Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul. Patron of disappointing children, loss of parents, people rejected by religious orders, sick people, social workers, Vincentian Service Corps and widows.

Feast of St. Matilda, wife of King Henry I of Germany (Henry the Fowler). Mother of three – Otho, Emperor, Henry, Duke of Bavaria and St. Bruno, Archbishop of Cologne. She is buried in St. Servatius Church, Quedlinburg Abbey. Patron parents of large families.

Feast of St. Ansovinus, Bishop and confessor, counselor to Louis the Pious, Holy Roman Emperor. Bishop of Camerino, Macerata, Marche, Italy. Patron of gardeners, invoked for good harvests. Died 840.

Feast of St. Paul Aurelian, Bishop & Founder, first bishop of Quimper & Léon, one of the seven founder saints of Brittany. A pupil of St. Illtud at Ynys Byr, he established monasteries in Finistère, at Lampaul, Ushant Island & Batz Island, Brittany. Consecrated bishop at Ocsimor.

Feast of St. Sophronius of Jerusalem, monk, theologian and Patriarch.  Called the Sophist, he wrote the Florilegium, the life of St. John the Almsgiver, the life of St. Mary of Egypt and composed 23 anacreontic odes on the feasts of the church.  Died 638.

Feast of Sts. Kyneburga, Kyneswide and Tibba, Abbesses, relatives of King Penda of Mercia. Kyneburga founded an abbey at Castor, in the Soke of Peterborough. Kyneswide and Tibba became abbess in succession, after the death of Kyneburga.  Tibba is patron saint of falconers.

Feast of St. Casimir of Poland, crown prince of the Kingdom of Poland. Patron of Lithuania, Poland, youth, Knights of St. John. Died 1483.

Feast of St. Chad of Mercia, Anglo-Saxon churchman, abbot of several monasteries, Bishop of the Northumbrians and Mercians.  Patron of Mercia and astronomers.
